After Four Rounds the ladder is this; 1. Waratah 2. Palmerston 3. Tracy Village 4. Darwin 5. Nightcliff 6. PINT 7. Southern Districts Round Five A grade; (4) Darwin vs (2) Palmerston at Kahlin Oval (3) Tracy Village vs (6) PINT at Tracy Village (7) Southern Districts vs (5) Nightcliff at MCG No.1 (1) Waratah - BYE Darwin and Palmerston should be an interesting contest. Palmerston need to win this if they're to remain in the hunt for the One Day premiership, while Darwin need a win to keep the morale up to push for two day finals come September. I don't think Palmerston will lose, but Darwin may turn the corner this game. Key players for Darwin, Peckham, Briggs and Brautigam, while Short, Regan and Williams are again pivotal for Palmerston who's spinner is providing great support in the middle overs, they just need one of their quicks to start firing. Tracy Village win this and it all but guarantees them a spot in the One Day Final for the third season in a row. PINT are in serious trouble and the rumour is a few imports to show up this game, Berry, Kelly and Putland. Tracy Village have apparently picked up Blaine Cornford, while Jason Donnelly is only a week or two away. The discipline of TV will see them to another workman like win. With teams changing, its hard to name PINT's key players, but Brown, Hodgson and Lavers all need to contribute while, Rossborough, McDermott and Johnstone will be crucial in the middle order. Southern Districts season is in struggle town and seriously needs a lift, while Nightcliff have been disappointing with the bat. Southern Districts will need a individual effort to get their first win and it will take Redpath or Miller to produce, while Nightcliff also have a couple of match winners that just need the bats to post a competitive total. Nightcliff to win. Redpath and Miller for SD's while the Tigers likely performers are M Hatton and Calkin. Like Tears In The Rain |

Half way through the season, the ladder stands as; 1. Tracy Village 2. Waratah 3. Palmerston 4. PINT 5. Darwin 6. Nightcliff 7. Southern Districts While it is only half way through, that is a good indication of the what the final four will be, with only Darwin having any realistic aspirations of being able to work into the top 4.
